About Tara
With a passion for mental health that began in Florida, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. My journey continued at Rollins College in Winter Park, where I completed my Master's in Mental Health Counseling. After becoming fully licensed in 2004, I moved to Colorado in 2009, where I obtained my LPC endorsement.
In 2021, I extended my practice to serve clients across multiple states, obtaining licensure in Ohio, North Carolina, and California. This multi-state licensure allows me to provide accessible mental health support to a broader community while maintaining the highest standards of professional care.
Therapy with me is integrated with a focus on emotional, mental, physical and spiritual forms of well-being. The goal is to help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves on all these levels. I want you to find your inner wisdom, challenge old and unhealthy beliefs and open up to see new ways of living with congruence and resiliency. Creating a safe, compassionate space for my clients to share their stories is at the heart of my practice. I consider it both an honor and a responsibility to be part of your healing journey, and I approach each session with deep respect and commitment to your mental health.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who do you work with?
I work with individuals ages 18 and up. I specialize in grief/loss, aviation mental health, major life transitions, depression, anxiety, stress and burnout. If I feel the issues you are presenting to therapy are outside my scope, I will do my best to refer you to trusted resources.
Is telehealth therapy right for me?
Secure video platforms now allow sessions that are as effective as in-person meetings, offering greater privacy and choice—especially for those in rural areas or for professionals seeking help outside their community. Telehealth also connects you with specialists beyond your local options.
I provide Telehealth full-time and have completed a 17-hour certificate course in Telemental Health to ensure safe, effective care. I use a secure video platform, along with encrypted messaging and email, to protect patient confidentiality.
How are sessions scheduled?
First, set up a 15 minute consultation here on my website. Once we get into a rhythm, we can determine the frequency of your sessions and whether or not you'd prefer a recurring time slot (example: every Wednesday at 10am) or would like to pop-in as needed.
I use a secure platform for video sessions, and you will receive an email with a link for any scheduled sessions. You will be able to schedule your own sessions or with me directly.
Do you take insurance?
As an out-of-network provider, I do not take insurance as a direct form of payment. Full payment is due at the time of service. However, I can provide an invoice (superbill) for you to submit to your insurance or HSA for reimbursement. I recommend that you check with your insurance plan regarding your coverage and benefits for out-of-network providers.
Why private pay only?
Insurance companies frequently mandate a diagnosis to authorize therapy sessions, which can create unnecessary obstacles for individuals and aviation professionals who simply seek support or someone to talk to. Private Pay provides the highest level of confidentiality without insurance involvement.
By offering private pay services for pilots, we ensure you can prioritize your mental health without worrying about potential impacts on your medical fitness.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you late cancel (less than 24 hours notice) or no-show to any session, you will be charged the full cost of your scheduled session.
